Suspect in Critical Condition After Police Involved Shooting

BALTIMORE — A man is in critical condition after police officers shot him in the face in Baltimore Sunday.

Baltimore Police say around 10 a.m. officers responded to a car accident near St. Charles Ave. and Belvedere Ave. when a person approached them about a man with a gun.

The shooting happened when officers chased the man on foot into an auto repair shop in the 5200 block of Eleanora Ave.

Two other people ran out of the garage before officers shot at the suspect.

He was shot at least one time and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect is in critical but stable condition.

No officers were injured.

Police recovered a handgun from the scene and are investigating the incident.
